A delegation from the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) recently visited the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Nairobi, where they were warmly welcomed by Chairman Dr. Arthur Munyua Mwaura and Dr. Romanus Opiyo.

The visit was centered on discussions regarding collaboration for the upcoming 3rd Annual Urban and Regional Planning Conference, scheduled for October 28-31, 2024, as part of #ResearchWeek2024. During this conference, the AAK will host its #UrbanThinkersCampus 9.0 at the ADD Building on Thursday, October 31st.

This event aims to bring together various stakeholders, including academia, policymakers, practitioners, students, and communities, to discuss and showcase innovative solutions related to urban planning, housing for all, and climate action. The conference will also commemorate #WorldCitiesDay, emphasizing the importance of sustainable urban development.

“We are excited to connect and explore how our curricula and research can translate into scalable, sustainable solutions for climate action and urban resilience,” stated a representative from AAK.
